First, have you heard of the new Peloton Plus?

I heard it has certain great features that are actually an upgrade on the Peloton. I found it hard to believe when I initially heard of it, so I decided to do my personal research to review them.

Already, we all know the brilliance of the Peloton as compared to competitors like the Echelon Smart Cycle or the versatile Keiser M3i, and if indeed the new Peloton Plus is doing wonders than the Peloton, then we all (bike enthusiasts) have to join hands and celebrate this new bike.

You will fully understand this statement if you’ve had an experience with the Peloton before. But let’s not confuse ourselves.

We have to do the digging ourselves to prove with facts and evidence whether this assertion is true. This is what we will be doing in this article.

Peloton vs Peloton Plus Review: The Brand

About Peloton

The Peloton Bike is a fitness machine used to have weight and cardio workouts in the home’s comfort.

It comes with an adjustable seat, paddle, leaderboard, handlebar, resistance knob, 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats with friends, and a 21.5 inch HD touchscreen that adjusts different heights.

The Peloton Company describes this bike as “the original heart-pumping cardio experience.”

It is sleek in design, robust in construction, and modern in appearance. With a 59-inch height, 23-inch width, and 53-inch depth, it can easily be assembled and installed by a professional.

A very innovative bike that allows users to stream both live and on-demand fitness classes just in the home. This functionality permits users to shrink workouts during busy days.

About Peloton Plus

The Peloton Plus is an indoor bike that comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, built-in microphone, and resistance knob with Auto Follow.

It also includes an adjustable seat, a handlebar, and a 23.8 inch HD touchscreen that permits riders to stream live and thousands upon thousands of on-demand classes in the comfort of the home.

Unlike the Peloton bike, the new Peloton Plus has knobs you can use to change your seat height. And there is also a different mechanism to push or pull the handlebars near or far from the seat.

You can locate the headphone jack just in the middle of the handlebars instead of behind the screen. By having the jack behind the screen, you are put in a difficult position to sit back.

Lastly, it comes with a bigger speaker. The speaker of this new bike has so much you will desire. It is installed on the screen with a built-in subwoofer that makes listening great.

It is a very great product for individuals who want to have cardio and weight workouts.

Peloton Plus Review

Peloton Plus

The bigger, the better, right?

The Peloton Plus’ 23.8-inch screen is slightly bigger than the 21.5-inch screen of the Peloton.

While the touchscreen of the Peloton adjusts for different heights, that of the Peloton Plus rotates left and right.

Therefore, you can jump off the bike and swivel the screen to enjoy a floor-based workout just close to your bike.

It seems convenient to use the screen without having to move yourself to a different working space. For 2,495, you actually get a bike that is valuable, durable, and top-notched.

Peloton Plus vs Peloton Buyers guide: Things To Consider Before Investing Your Hard-Earned Money

We will review and assess the two bikes in terms of their price, design, structure, and general interactions to help you make an informed decision.

1. Price

They know the only difference between the Peloton and the Peloton Plus is how they’ve been priced for several people.

The Peloton Plus comes at the cost of $2,495 with a $600 premium compared to the Peloton, which goes for $1,895. You are sure to get a few additional features and competencies with the Peloton Plus for the $600 premium.

But it is important to note that depending on how you want to use the bike, these features’ expenses can be justified. Reasonably, the Peloton is definitely the best choice to invest in if you need the two bikes’ more affordable.

There is a monthly subscription fee of $49 and $64 for Peloton and Peloton Plus, respectively. Plus, if you want to use the shoe, earphones, and dumbbells, you must consider paying an amount of $450 extra to have them.

2. Design

The two Peloton bikes look alike in design, structure, and configuration. However, the new 23.8 inch HD touchscreen, resistance knob with Auto Follow, 2.5 GHz Qualcomm QCS605 processor, 4GB RAM, USB-C charging port for devices, and Apple GymKit integration pushes it a little above the Peloton.

A very robust, sturdy, and modern machine. They definitely can save you enough space. You wouldn’t have to worry about the installation; with just a little help, you can assemble any of them.

3. Resistance

Peloton displays your resistance on its 21.5-inch adjustable touch screen when having workouts. The resistance is magnetic, and it can be adjusted mechanically to have a smooth and quiet ride.

The Peloton Plus, on the other hand, comes with a resistance knob with Auto Follow. It also has a resistance that is magnetic with digital adjustment.

4. Weight Capacity

The Peloton comes with 135 pounds, a user weight limit of 297 pounds, and a shipping weight of 135 pounds.

While the Peloton Plus comes with 140 pounds, a user weight limit of 297 pounds, and a shipping weight of 135 pounds.

5. Level of Comfort

The two bikes come with a hand holding feature which provides a lot of comfort to riders. But then, people of different types can sometimes feel uncomfortable when using them.

The adjustable paddle also provides comfort by cushioning riders throughout a ride. It can adjust even to fit those tall and are in a height range of 4’11” – 6’4”.

The handlebar can also be adjusted to fit your poster. Additionally, you can wear the shoes to use the paddle. And finally, they are all space-efficient bikes with 24 inches on all four sides.

6. Workout

You can use the two bikes to access live classes and thousands of more on-demand classes in the range of cycling, resistance band training, and Bootcamp.

They can easily measure metrics such as speed, calories, resistance, and heart rate. Instructors are very professionals, and they not just motivate; they offer engaging and effective workouts.

Constantly, workouts are being updated to help you train better. The community is huge, with a lot of members. Through the Peloton app, you can check your performance and track improvement.

7. Build and Construction

The Peloton comes with dimensions of; 53-inch height, 23-inch width, and 59-inch depth, while the Peloton Plus comes with 59-inch height, 22-inch width, and 59-inch depth.

They are not just modern; they are sturdy, robust, and of high quality. They look like a normal bike. However, they don’t move like a normal bike. They were constructed with steel and other super materials.

8. Warranty

The two bikes offer a period of 5 years on the structural frame, a 1 year period on its HD screen, and an overall 12-month limited warranty.

9. Footprint

They come with a 4’x 2’ footprint that makes them a good choice for home training.

Peloton Plus vs Peloton: How Are They Different?

These are some of the features of the Peloton Plus, which look different from the Peloton.

1. Swivel screen

Let’s begin with the biggest difference. Do you know the Peloton Plus comes with a rotating screen?

Yes, if you don’t, then you’ve heard it from me. It comes with a screen that you can rotate about 180 degrees, enabling you to do other workouts next to your bike.

You can do yoga, core, and strength classes simply by hopping off a ride and flipping the screen to have full viewing access. It comes in hand with Peloton’s new bike boot camps.

During strength workouts, you have the freedom to go back and forth from the bike to the floor. However, it is important to note that you can do these classes without the Peloton Plus.

By swiveling the screen, you definitely get the chance to set your body area in a way that allows you to view the strength workouts you are having.

But it is still possible to do this with the Peloton if you have that. Also, if you have the Peloton but desire not to swivel, you can get the contraption to make your screen swivel.

2. Auto Follow

The other difference we will consider is the Auto Follow feature. When this feature is set, it allows your Peloton Plus to automatically adjust to the resistance level that the instructor wants the bike to operate on so that you can ride freely without having to worry yourself about the resistance.

This is a feature you will really enjoy as a user. So if the instructor says “40 – 50 resistance”, the bike automatically adjusts to 45.

From here, you can change it manually if you want to. The bike will also trace your workout history, so if next time the instructor state say, “50 – 60 resistance,” the bike will by itself move to 60.

It is really a very great feature. Also, if this feature is not your thing, you can turn it off.

3. Swivel Screen

Another great feature of the Peloton Plus is syncing with Apple Watches. It seems like the Peloton Company has listening ears.

Because actually, this feature has been an-ask from several Apple Watch users. They’ve wanted to use their watches as a heart rate monitor and have it get reflected on the screen.

And in their own way, they’ve made it happen. Within the bike, there is an Apple GymKit that enables you to sync up to show your heart rate on the screen just by putting your wrist up to the sensor on the bike screen.

When you confirm your watch that you want to sync with the bike, it connects by beeping then the workout app automatically starts right on your watch to record your workout while your heart rate is shown on the screen. Amazingly, it stops by itself when the class is over.
