Peloton Accessories

On the other hand, you can’t talk about indoor bikes today without mentioning the Peloton cycle.

Marketing itself as “The best cardio machine on the planet”, the Peloton experience seems to be what its users and customers expected. That equinox feeling.

Apparently, all the craze happens with its live instructor-led workouts and on-demand classes. And for instructors, it’s like having a personal trainer come to your house whenever you’d like.

In fact, you can join a peloton class live or pick from thousands of different ride and workout options at a time that is convenient for you.

Peloton vs Keiser Buyer’s Guide: How to Choose the Best Indoor Cycling Bike

Now, to the main Peloton vs Keiser battle. This is a tough competition between two popular indoor exercise bikes.

Lots of food for thought here. For example; I hadn’t thought about the Peloton technology (the screen) aging from the day you buy it and the potential need for replacement screens in the future (damage, upgrade, etc.)

Also, it seems to boil down to the fact that the M3i is a commercial-grade bike with exceptional durability and quality where the Peloton is a lesser quality residential bike (but still great) that has all built-in social features.

Price

It all comes down to your budget in the end as always. However, both bikes come in at almost the same price point. If the Peloton bike fits in your budget, the higher quality experience is worth it.

If you don’t want to be locked up in any membership scheme after paying almost $2000 for a bike, then the M3i may just be what you need to achieve your fitness goals.

Since the price is identical, it comes down to how you’ll be willing to pay for additional add-ons and attachments. The Peloton bike will require a certain Peloton shoe, earphones and dumbbells. So you’ll be paying about $450 more.

Not forgetting the $39.99 monthly or $480 a year subscription fee. However, the Keiser is good to go out of the box with this ‘holiday goodies’ bundle on Amazon.

Assembly

Even though Peloton has an outrageous delivery and installation fee of $250, it is fairly easy to assemble. Assembling the M3i is as easy as riding it. Check out this YouTube video below on how to assemble this bike without any problem.

Keiser M3i bike Assembly: Very quick and easy assembling as well

Space/Storage

These are high-end spin bikes innovations with a well-thought-out design. Therefore, you’ll feel more comfortable when pushing hard on a sprint of riding for a long period of time. Keiser’s setup mirrors a typical road bike just like the Peloton.

You’ll love the M3i’s compact, sleek, no-frills design, and the fact that it does not require electricity. It is very quiet. It does not overpower a medium-sized room like mine. I have mine set up in the bedroom in front of a television. And it’s a sight to behold.

Build/Construction

Having a quality build that comfortably accommodates different body types is a plus. The new Keiser M3i is just outstanding, a perfect combination of innovation and design. Above all, it is quiet and has a functional companion app.

Both spin bikes are compact and sleek. Peloton is similar to a road bike and the M3i was actually built to mimic a road bike.

HD Display

Like one customer review of the Keiser said, “Purchased this for one of our work gyms and could not be happier. This is exceptional. The quality of the construction is second to none. It is easily adjustable for multiple users. It has a super clean computer with a no-nonsense display.”

You get other relevant attachments like the M series Convertor and a Polar Heart Rate Monitor for free in this Keiser M3i bundle on Amazon.

On the other hand, all the good things happen on the Peloton display. A state-of-the-art 22″ touchscreen digital display brings the Peloton digital app experience to life. It is a crucial aspect of the overall experience you get.

Weight Capacity

With a shipping weight of 113 pounds and a package weight of 113 pounds, the m3i has a user weight limit of about 350 pounds. Whiles the Peloton bike has a user weight limit of just about 305 pounds. And 135 pounds shipping weight.

Resistance

The resistance reflects how hard it is to turn the crank on a bike. It is measured in percent, with 100% being the maximum. In theory, one shouldn’t be able to pedal at 100% resistance, but some bikes do exceed the normal threshold because of poor calibration.

On the Keiser bike, you can change the dial of resistance anytime by rotating the red bar on the handlebar. The resistance is magnetic so it can be changed on the fly. It increases it by pushing it forward and decreases it by pushing it backward. Simple.

The digital display indicates a number representing the resistance level so you can set it to whatever level you prefer.

On the Peloton, you just have to turn the knob to the right to make the wheel feel heavier. And likewise, turn the knob to the left to make feel lighter. It also displays your resistance on its screen.

Ideally, your goal is to track these numbers over a period of time on the same bike.

Warranty

For me, warranty and customer service are the holy grail of buying any piece of fitness equipment. So let’s get to the crux of the matter.

By far, I’m seeing one of the best warranty on the market with M3i. And it runs through all its products. No wonder they enjoy so much love from their customers.

What about a bold:

  • 10 YEARS – Structural integrity of frame members
  • 3 YEARS – Cylinders, displays, processor boxes, and thumb buttons (except plastic parts)
  • 1-year warranty if using compressor(s) without drying mechanism
  • 2 YEARS on Compressor and dryer, cables, pulleys, and bearings
  • 1 YEAR on Chrome
  • 90 DAYS on Paint, upholstery, seat belts, hand grips, and other rubber and plastic products.

Find more on Keiser’s warranty here

On the Peloton side of things, you get a cool 5 years on the structural frame and a 1-year warranty on its HD touchscreen, bike components, bike pedals, labor, etc..

Benefits of Keiser M3i and Peloton bike

1. Weight loss

Apparently, if you don’t feel the Peloton bike, touchscreen display and it’s subscription fee are worth it. However, you’re keen on weight management and burning some extra calories right in the comfort of your home. Then the M3i may be what you need.

However, if you like the virtual rides feature of the Peloton, then don’t hesitate to sweat it out.

2. Muscle Toning

Stationary bikes are known for their body/muscle toning properties, and these bikes are no different.

It must be said that this Keiser machine is highly recommended by many professionals for its rehabilitation benefits.

3. Cardiovascular Health

On the Keiser bike, we recommend the Polar H1, H7, or H10, although any heart rate monitor that communicates heart rate data using the 5khz or “GymLink” frequency will work. All Keiser cardio products use this frequency to receive heart rate data.

Try and use the M3i at a gym or health club a few times before deciding to get one for the house. Being able to jump on it and get in some cardio without a drive to the gym or worrying about the weather is such a great experience.

 Similarities

One noticeable feature of both indoor bikes is the price. They both have identical pricing. With a smooth, compact and sleek look, both bikes have a small footprint. This makes it a great piece of fitness equipment for home use.

Apparently, most indoor exercise bikes are similar in many ways. therefore, many prospective buyers base their final decision on price, compactness, and ease of use.

Difference

Of course, the Peloton bike is great with lots of features most of the spin bikes around don’t have. You can actually stream live classes with top-notch instructors virtually over your shoulders.

You also have the luxury of the large on-demand library of previous classes for you as well.

Peloton gives you a stationary exercise bike as you’d find at any spinning class, but each bike has a screen that runs a virtual class while you ride with an instructor, music, leaderboard, and performance metrics.

You are connected to a community of trainers, classes, and other riders.

Many people who’ve bought the Peloton, sometimes wish they would have bought a Keiser. The difference is the adjust-ability.

The Peloton lacks the ability to adjust, to fit your body type, can get a little uncomfortable sometimes. Even though the Peloton digital App works with the Keiser M3i, they’ve their differences.

Conclusion

Basically, Peloton creates a virtual spinning class experience.

So you get a lot more software, programming, and community than a simple unconnected bike. A virtual community-based spinning class at the comfort of your home substitute for going to a $30 spinning class that you have to drive to.

IF you’re interested in riding with friends and motivate each other right from the comfort of your own home, then you’ll love the virtual rides feature of the Peloton. If this is a make or break point for you – Peloton might be the way to go.

Keiser is giving you one of the best, reliable Peloton alternatives without a $39.99 monthly or $480 a year subscription. In fact, you can just subscribe to the Peloton digital app and use it on the Keiser bike. Or even go with this bike and the Peloton IOS app for $12.99/month.

“ Well, believe it or not … my dear  friend”

Many have gotten results and others continue to get the same. Without making huge lifestyle changes, except an investment and the willpower to improve their body, health, and general wellbeing. You can DEFINITELY handle that! You’ll wish you’d purchased this gem a long time ago.

If you’re on the fence, give it a try.
